A Twitter account purporting to share quotes overheard in the Goldman Sachs elevators has been providing some of the juiciest gossip on Wall Street for weeks.
The account holder claims to work inside Goldman. The Post says Goldman is worried that the tweeter is a rogue employee.
But for all we know, it's a 40-year old gamer from the Midwest. Or a PR experiment intended to distract people from the real issues and/or make Goldman's elevators out to be dens of humor, debauchery and sex.
So we looked up @GSElevator's first ten followers—the people with the earliest tip-off and, perhaps, the best chance of leading to the secret Tweeter. (Thanks to Gawker for the inspiration.) Several on the list are financial journalists, but others—including the very first follower—are more mysterious and... intriguing.
